Traditional Day Program

Following the Cobb County School calendar with minimal exceptions students attend school from 9am-2pm. Focusing on academic and social skills, students explore activities to enhance the curriculum. Lessons align with kindergarten standards but are enhanced with an emphasis on diversity and reflection on current and past events.

Building relationships, identifying emotions, and effective communication are a significant part of the curriculum. Students are redirected often to solve conflicts with their peers with role play examples and feedback. Group meetings are often called by students themselves as they are encouraged to solve their own conflicts. The goal is to foster an independence and an understanding that everyone has emotions that we are responsible for managing.

Students must arrive with a packed lunch and filled water bottle daily. A morning and afternoon snack is provided.

Afternoon Sessions

From 2:45 – 4pm afternoon sessions are offered that focus on math, phonics, and writing.

Math lessons are taught to align with at least one grade acceleration. Phonics lessons are individualized to improve grammar and reading fluency and writing lessons focus on the three types of writing (narrative, informative and persuasive).

During writing sessions, students will have the opportunity to improve their skills writing narrative, informative, and opinion pieces in creative ways. Students who consistently pair their illustrations with detailed sentences while spelling unknown words phonetically are prepared for this session.

These sessions align with advanced kindergarten and first grade standards. An hourly rate is charged for each session.

Summer Sessions

Weekly sessions are determined in the Spring during the enrollment period. A weekly rate is charged for summer sessions.
